In the Autumn of 2010 DataCat were asked by Bibendum, the UK's biggest wine importer, to completely revamp their comms area following a major IT upgrade that had required three comms cabinets to be consolidated into two.
This involved full documentation of the core infrastructure so that every item of hardware including switches, routers and firewalls could be removed from the cabinets and relocated in a logical and manageable configuration.
48 cx CAT6 links were also installed between the cabinets to allow patching between the two without the need to string patch leads across from one cabinet to the other.
The only opportunity to carry out the project was between close of business Friday and Monday start time. DataCat worked around the clock to ensure that come Monday morning every member of staff had their network and phone connectivity restored. The before and after pictures tell the story.
