ICG

ICG (Intermediate Capital Group) is a leading provider of mezanine finance with offices worldwide.

In December 2006 ICG began the refurbishment of their 4 floors of office space at 20 Old Broad Street, part of the internationally recognised Tower 42 Estate in the heart of the City of London.

Datacat were appointed to install all the required network cabling, working closely with the fit-out contractors but directly responsible to ICG's head of IT Norman Norton.

During the course of the refurbishment Datacat installed 864 CAT5e network points, all of which terminate in a comms room on the third floor.

'We chose Datacat because we were confident in the high standards of service and the quality of installation they offered. Everything they do is backed up by credible test results, and you can see the quality of the workmanship just by inspecting our cabinets' says Mr Norton.

During the course of 2007 Datacat went on to install 102 network points in ICG's Madrid office, and a further 54 in their Stockholm office.

'When you are running a worldwide IT system it is essential to know that the basic infrastructure is 100% reliable which is why we prefer to call on Datacat for the cabling in our overseas offices rather than take the risk of using unknown local contractors' says Mr Norton, adding that he is anticipating contracting Datacat to install network cabling in ICG's new Amsterdam office in the near future.
