How We Work

At Datacat we aim to make the planning and installation of your data cabling as easy and painless as possible.

STEP 1 - ENQUIRY

To start, please contact us with a brief overview of what you are planning to achieve. If you already know what you need then please provide us with as much information as possible including photographs of your offices, floor plans and quantities, or by completing as much as you can of our Get a Quote form.

Once we have the information we might contact you with a few additional questions or simply provide you with a provisional quote based on the information we have. We will be happy to liaise directly with your IT provider if you’re not sure of any technical specifications.

STEP 2 - VERIFICATION

If you are happy with the provisional quotation, we will make a decision whether to carry out a site survey or not based on the information you give us. If we decide not to carry out a site survey we will confirm your quotation and schedule the job. If we visit the site this may result in some amendments to the original quotation. In either case we will submit a network diagram (if necessary) and technical specification to you, and commit to carry out the specified job for the price quoted. A deposit is required before we can book the work in, at which stage we will schedule at the earliest available opportunity that works for you.

STEP 3 - IMPLEMENTATION

DataCat will carry out the installation specified in the shortest time possible co-ordinating with you and/or your team wherever necessary. If, between your accepting our quote and our finishing the work, you request any changes to the original specification we will keep you fully updated, and get your consent for any additional costs incurred.

Whether the work is scheduled in or out of office hours our installers will work with you to ensure the job is completed with the least disruption possible, and will leave your premises in as clean and tidy a condition as we found them

STEP 4 - TESTING & CERTIFICATION

On completion of the installation we test and provide a test certificate for each individual cable as well as a summary sheet. If requested, we are happy to submit an additional copy to your IT provider at no extra cost.

Test results will be submitted to the relevant manufacturer who will issue a 20-year Link Warranty Certificate

STEP 5 - SIGN OFF & INVOICE

Full test results will be submitted along with our final invoice. Please request a copy of our Terms and Conditions for more information.
